![]() I was dropped off at the office on bluff street to connect with the main vehicle. One of the passengers didn't show up and it caused a domino effect. The female driver was friendly, but things seemed a bit chaotic. The original vehicle picked me up at my residence about 20 minutes late. It is a great idea, but it also led to a sequence of delays. I'm glad I scheduled plenty of time to compensate for all of the delays. If you take your own safety and well being seriously and indeed your very life you'll find a different source of transportation than Salt Lake Express. I wonder if the idiot driver really thought we were all ignorant and no one would notice. In Salt Lake Express's policy web page it lists numerous safety and curtesy points the passenger must comply with, one of which explains that we have to obey the driver because he is ultimately responsible for our "safety and well being".right. "Ahhh, so it is against company policy", I said. I"m sorry, I'm not going to talk about it!". He was clearly agitated and defensive and blurted out "I don't want to talk about it. Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt (maybe it's company policy to use cell phones like on-board radios or walkie-talkies with dispatch or something? I know, it's a stretch but I was trying to be nice and give him a way out) I asked him "So I didn't hear earlier what your explanation was for the cell phone?". When we got to the St George stop the driver came around and opened the side door and I quickly got off and he and I walked back to the trailer to get bags out. There were only three other passengers aboard two of which were seated in seats in line behind the driver and a gentleman seated a couple seats ahead of me and all three in various stages of snooze. "You've been on it continuously since we left Vegas", I shouted from the back and let the subject drop. I went back to my seat in the rear right side of the van when he mumbled something about the need to communicate. "Every ten seconds they call/text and expect you to answer? While you're driving?" I asked. He answered that the company contacts him about matters and he has to answer them. I got up and went up to the front and asked him "Hey buddy, is it not against company policy (not to mention against the law) to be fiddling on your cell phone while driving?". He kept it up continuously for about 35-40 minutes until about halfway between Glendale and Mesquite when I couldn't take it anymore. I thought surely he'll stop soon, "hang up" and just drive but he didn't. He'd look up every few seconds to make sure we were still on the road. ![]() He'd set it down on the little shelf ahead of the speedometer, then ten seconds later pick it up holding it down low while texting/fiddling, eyes focused down on his phone NOT on the road. I thought, well, maybe once or twice, something company related, a quick glance to check something, no big deal. George on I-15 I noticed the driver TEXTING and fiddling on his cell phone WHILE DRIVING! I could not believe it. ![]() Leaving north Las Vegas yesterday evening to come back to St.
